Tori Thumond

Tori Thurmond is a senior English Writing major at Lipscomb University in Nashville, Tennessee. She has participated in several Poetry workshops at her university. Thurmond presented a poetry collection, Equinox, at a local conference, Student Scholars Symposium where her collection was selected as best in the section. She is currently in the process of applying to MFA programs to pursue poetry at the graduate level.

Matthew Smith

Matthew Smith, a Nashville native, grew up in Brentwood, TN. He currently attends Lipscomb University and plans to graduate in the Spring of 2020 with a double major in English and Spanish. After undergraduate, he hopes to pursue an MFA in poetry. Outside of poetry, Matthew enjoys his nieces and nephews, hiking, and playing soccer.

Alex MacWilliam

Alex MacWilliam is originally from New Hampshire but has lived in Nashville for almost a decade. He is currently attending graduate school for Mental Health Counseling. As a hobby, he enjoys photography and collecting vinyl records. He lives in Inglewood with his wife, Chelsea, his two dogs, Goose and Sugar, and his bearded dragon, Tutu.

Jineen Glover

Originally from New York, Jineen Marie Glover, with her husband of 21 years and three children, has called Nashville home since 2005. Since childhood, Jineen has had the innate ability to see and create beauty. She has been blessed with three beautiful children of her own and carried two babies as a surrogate for a dear friend. Jineen is passionate about empowering women by helping them see the beauty within.

Jess Lancaster

Calling Nashville home for ten years, Jess Lancaster finds solace in nature. You can often find her hiking with her pup, Luna, hoping to inspire others to experience the restorative beauty of the outdoors. She also spends time laughing and eating ice cream with her husband Luke.

Jess neglects writing most of the time because, honestly, it’s just too hard. But, when she finally gives into the written word, she’s glad she did.

Ryan Wilson

Ryan Gabriel Wilson is an undergraduate studying Creative Writing at Lipscomb University. His poetry explores the ideas and language surrounding relationships, growing to meditate on topics such as Darwin's finches, the killing of the moon, and the absence of the divine. Wilson hopes to begin pursuing a Masters of Fine Art in Creative Writing in the Fall of 2020.

Melissa Paschall Scott

Melissa Paschall Scott has finally accepted that she was called to create. She lives just outside of Nashville, where she writes when she feels like screaming. Melissa loves spending time with family and their very spoiled dog. Her poem “Send the Light” appears in the The Soap Box Volume IV, a collection of poems and stories on theme of light. (The Soap Box Press, November 2019) She is currently working on her first novel.

Laura Epling

Laura Epling is an amateur poet residing in Nashville, Tennessee. She has had her works published by Z Publishing (2019, 2018) and the Belmont University Literary Journal (2016). She enjoys writing on the convergence of the super-ego with the natural world, and her top influences include Mary Oliver, Mary Rueffle, and Walt Whitman. Laura currently lives as a professional violinist and spends her downtime orchestrating, talking to plants, and petting her pit-bull pup.

Samuel Richard Leonard

My name is Samuel Richard Leonard, I am 23 years old living with two of my best friends from childhood. We all grew up together in the greater Chicago area and decided to seize these days of our youth together and get a house in Nashville. I helped them write their band’s debut single, Closer + Closer by the mids, and am working on my solo career as a poet.

Heather Liddington is a writer, actor, and native Nashvillian. When not on the screen or scribbling on the page she can be found baking & cooking up a storm in the kitchen and cuddling with her house panther RumTum.

Emalee Weil

Emalee has always used song lyrics and poetry as her source of refuge. Emalee moved to Nashville in 2013 and has worked everything from bartending on Broadway to supervising Swan Ball. Emalee thinks of feelings in colors and memories in songs. She does not consider herself a skilled artist of any medium but she has definitely done her research on art expression as a desperate means of understanding herself and the world around.

brennan k.a. pollock is an aspirant chaplain and professor of philosophy and religion who landed in nashville some three years ago. always dissatisfied by the strictures of institutions he skirted around in his pursuit of pastoral leadership by living in london with vagabonds and socialists of various stripes like himself. as a poet he wants to re-enchant the world, inspire the oppressed to action, and help others see the divine within every pore, motion, and mood.

Zak Cowell

Zak Cowell is a writer who grew up in Charlotte, NC and now resides near Nashville, TN. Zak attended college at Appalachian State University majoring in marketing and minoring in english.

Besides poetry, Zak also writes short stories. His short story collection, “Tales from Devil’s Peak”, was released through Madness Heart Press in August of 2019.

Zak’s poems have been featured in various publications, including “North Carolina’s Best Emerging Poets 2019: an Anthology", available on Amazon

Sarah Smith

Sarah is a freelance graphic designer living in Nashville, Tennessee. Although she has been writing since she was a teenager, this is the first time her words have been published.

She is passionate about art and feels that being creative is inherently human. The process of bringing a story, experience, feeling, or vision to life through the act of creation connects us to ourselves, each other, and our environment. She hopes that readers might find solace or a sense of recognition in her words.

St. Rocco is many things, some holy and some perverse. It's been said of him that he is "an all together mess of a man", "insufferably kind", and "broad chested with the allure of a old lotarhio". You can spot this dancing saint roaming the streets of East Nashville looking for god knows what. If you want to join him in his pilgrimages of sin he would likely be delighted.
